Limit Switches Introduction :

To transform a mechanical motion into an electrical control signal, SURAJ Limit Switches were specifically created. The dust-proof cover on the switch element extends the switch's lifespan. Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT) of electrical grade makes up the element's housing. The contacts are made of silver bimetal, and the conductors and terminals are composed of copper alloy.

Limit switches are electromechanical devices that detect the presence or position of objects in industrial systems. They consist of an actuator, typically a lever, button, or roller, and a set of electrical contacts. When an object comes into contact with the actuator, it changes the state of these contacts, sending a signal to control machinery or stop motion. They’re critical in settings where precision, repeatability, and safety are necessary, especially for controlling movements and preventing machinery from operating beyond safe limits.

Use of Limit Switches :

Types of Limit Switches

Limit switches come in various types, each suited for different applications and environments. They vary in their actuator designs, construction, and intended use. Lever Actuated Limit Switch : Has a lever arm, sometimes with a roller, which is moved by the contacting object. Used in conveyor belts, packaging, and machinery to detect the presence or position of moving parts.

Plunger or Push Button Limit Switch : Features a spring-loaded plunger or button that the object directly pushes to activate. Common in assembly lines and automated machinery for precise position sensing.

Roller Plunger Limit Switch : Combines a plunger with a roller on the end, allowing smoother activation by objects moving laterally. Useful for applications where the object moves along a horizontal plane, such as in conveyor systems.

Wobble Stick or Whisker Limit Switch : Has a flexible arm, often resembling a whisker or stick, which activates the switch when deflected by an object. Used in settings where objects may come from various angles, like detecting jammed parts on conveyor belts.

Rotary or Adjustable Lever Limit Switch : Contains an adjustable lever arm that can be rotated to control the angle at which it makes contact with the object. Ideal for applications requiring flexibility in installation, such as controlling large machinery with varying contact points.
